Walmart Beauty Box: Winter Edit 2023

I used to subscribe to Walmart Beauty Box but cancelled because, even though it was a steal at only $5, I just had too many samples and didn’t need to add more to the pile every month. That being said, they’ve retooled the subscription a bit and I decided to give them another try.

*Disclaimer: This box was purchased by See, Shop, Love!

The Walmart Beauty Box is sent out quarterly (every three months) and costs $6.98 (plus applicable tax and including shipping). You can cancel at any time through your account page.

My last box was in Winter of 2020 (read that review here), and I think it has improved since then. It’s $1.98 more expensive, but now you can fill out a profile with your beauty needs and preferences and receive a “curated” box. I believe the curation lies in that there are a few box options and Walmart Beauty Box will match you with the most appropriate of the options, based on your profile.

You’ll receive five to seven mini to full-sized items each quarter, including products from top Walmart brands and new launches.

My Winter box had a really good assortment: five items total, four of which were full-sized! Not bad for only about $7. The info card that came with lists 12 possible products to receive.

Tangle Teezer Detangling Hair Brush ($12.97): This actually isn’t listed on the info card, but there is a note that says if your product isn’t there, it’s because Walmart included “an extra surprise we thought you’d love.” This brush is great for wet or dry hair, and I especially like using detanglers like this on my hair after showering.

EOS Shea Butter Hand Cream in Vanilla Cashmere ($14.08): I love hand creams, especially for the winter, because I get very dry skin and eczema patches on the back of my hands. I’m not in love with the scent of this one, it isn’t bad, it’s just a little “fake vanilla” for me, but that’s okay. What I do like is that it absorbs quickly and leaves my hands feeling moisturized for a long period of time.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion ($7.98 for 8 fl oz): This has a prebiotic oat formula that provides clinically-proven moisture for 24 hours and helps protect the skin barrier. I like having little bottles like this on hand for travel, so this will be put to good use.

COVERGIRL Perfect Point Plus Ink Gel Eyeliner in Black ($6.97): I don’t use eyeliner too often, but I do prefer formulas like this one. It’s a gel pencil that glides on easily and stays in place like a liquid ink. I haven’t tried it yet, but it sounds promising.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Lip Exfoliator in Brown Sugar ($5.00): Most lip scrubs are too harsh on my lips, as the skin there is pretty thin. I like this scrub a lot because it has brown sugar that isn’t too big or abrasive. It also smells great!

Not including the Aveeno sample, the retail value of my Walmart Beauty Box for Winter 2023 totals $47! The EOS lotion is listed as $10 on the info card but $14.08 on the website, so even if it’s $10 in stores, that equals way more than the $6.98 price tag. This is the best Walmart Beauty Box I’ve ever gotten and I’m very happy with all of the items.

Bottom Line: The Walmart Beauty Box is a great starter box for anyone who wants a beauty subscription without too much cost or commitment, and I like that all of the products are available form purchase at Walmart for affordable prices if there’s something you really love.
