Laurence King has a huge line of products, from coffee table design books to games for kids and adults. They also have an expansive collection of adult coloring books, like Johanna Basford’s Secret Garden and Enchanted Forest.
I love adult coloring books and I’m so glad they’ve become so popular. Coloring is very calming and meditative for me. I prefer nature designs, so these two books are perfect for me! The artwork is absolutely gorgeous.
Secret Garden features beautiful illustrations or floral designs and whimsical fairytale-like scenes. There’s also a treasure hunt at the beginning that lists a bunch of different images for you to find with an answer key at the end of the book.
As you can see, Johanna Basford’s artwork is intricate and perfect for mindful coloring. She suggests using fine point felt pens to color, but I prefer colored pencils. You definitely need something with a sharp tip though.
Enchanted Forest also has a treasure hunt element to it, with illustrations of cute animals and forest scenes. This is my absolute favorite type of book to color in!
Rabbits are my favorite animal and they’re peppered throughout this book.
Here’s a completed hedgehog that I colored in. I love that the illustrations are full of dreamy elements, like using leaves for his body instead of regular quills.

The illustrations are so beautiful and the extra treasure hunt game is a fun addition. Even if you’re not a fan of coloring, you should definitely browse the Laurence King catalog because they have so many great gifts to choose from!
