I have been expanding my routine beyond Korean skincare to include more Korean makeup and hair care, and I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to switch from Western to Korean hair products! I just started using the Mise-en-Scene Original Perfect Serum and am going to buy it from now on over products I’ve used in the past.

The Mise-en-Scene Original Serum is the #1 hair essence in Korea. It’s proven to repair damaged hair and has heat protection to help prevent future damage. The serum contains argan, coconut, olive, and apricot oils and camellia, jojoba, and birrea seeds.
The Original formula has a light floral scent of citrus and green apples mixed with orange blossoms and lily of the valley. The serum also comes in Super Rich (white floral scent), Styling (clean powdery scent), Rose Perfume (refreshing rose scent), and Watery (refreshing rose scent, for half curly hair).
I was previously using the bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil, which costs $47 for 3.4 fl oz. The Mise-en-Scene Original Serum costs $20 for 2.7 oz at Olive Young, which is a substantial price difference. I found that it works as well, if not better, than the Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil at moisturizing and smoothing my hair. I blow dry and heat style regularly, so heat protection is really important in my routine.
I highly recommend checking out the Mise-en-Scene Original Serum if you’re looking for an effective and affordable hair serum/essence. My hair is supremely soft after using it and it has worked really well to protect from heat damage! This isn’t just for Korean or Asian hair, either. It’s great for any hair type and will provide lasting results.
