Supporting small businesses has become even more important to me, especially now that the economy is not the best. Companies like LaJeanell, a woman-owned indie skincare and makeup brand, are exactly the kind I prefer on which to spend my money!

Shirley Powell founded LaJeanell after working as an entrepreneur and model with 40 years of business experience. She wanted to create skincare and makeup that was health conscious. The result is a line of natural and organic makeup and anti-aging skincare providing quality solutions to every day needs!

All of LaJeanell’s makeup is made for sensitive skin with organic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant ingredients to promote natural healing. They are vegan and cruelty-free and also free from fragrance, preservatives, synthetics, parabens, formaldehyde, and phthalates.
I received a mascara, a lip liner, three lipsticks, and the new Moonline Lume Pod to try.

The Lovely and Luxurious Versatile Lip/Cheek/Eyeshadows are available in five different colors. Above I have the Autumn Leaves, Winter Holly Berries, and Shirley shades swatched. The formula is so soft — in fact, I accidentally smudged the Shirley shade when I opened it, so be careful! I used them all on my lips and they feel very hydrating and comfortable. I hate when I use a lipstick and it ends up feeling dry; you won’t have to worry about that with these. They actually help heal dry lips and improve elasticity. They are well-pigmented and can be layered for more color on the eyes, cheeks, and lips.
I also received the Neutral Lip Liner Pencil, which is swatched below the three lipstick strips above. It easily and smoothly glided along my lips for extra protection and staying power for the lipsticks.

The Dramatic Lashes Black Mascara can be used on both lashes and brows with buildable intensity. The formula is creamy and coats and thickens lashes without smudging, for maximum volume.
Unfortunately, the mascara did not work well for me. I have short, straight lashes and need a formula that provides a lot of definition and volume, and this formula was not able to provide that. Even after five swipes of the product, hardly any was deposited onto my lashes. I think that this is more appropriate for someone who wants a very light mascara look.

The Moonlight Lume Pod is the newest product in LaJeanell’s line of makeup. It is a creamy highlighter that provides contouring and dynamic highlights to all skin tones, and includes a 100 percent vegan mini duo brush. The formula is enriched with antioxidants and helps create the perfect glowing complexion.
I love this highlighter. The formula is so silky smooth and it’s easy to apply the amount of highlight you want. You can see in the swatch above that it has a beautiful shimmer that changes in the light!

Bottom Line: The LaJeanell makeup line is stellar. I love that their products are not only vegan and cruelty-free, but also enriched with special benefits like extra hydration and antioxidants. They have a great line of skincare and makeup that you can purchase individually or in sets.
